My tears threaten to carve a path across my cheeks.
I can feel the tightness in my chest begin.
Just in the nick of time, you save me.
The scent of the perfume from you lingers.
Before the tears comes a smile.
Someone special, far away, cares.
A horrible friend wrapped in my own misery... that's me.
So much time given to my darkness, I neglect you.
My friend, are you warm in the light?
Do you need a shoulder, an ear, or someone to listen?
The tears are blurring my vision.
My earring, cold against my neck, halts them for a minute.
